QUEST V80: The First Detector with Accelerometer
The QUEST V80 metal detector is the first detector to incorporate a gyroscope sensor, also known as an accelerometer, offering a series of advantages that enhance the user experience. The accelerometer captures the detector’s movements, enabling automatic ground balance adjustment without having to press a button. A simple up-and-down pumping motion will trigger the gyroscope sensor, which will automatically and instantly calibrate the V80 detector to the ground’s mineralization to adapt to the terrain’s characteristics.

The gyroscope sensor also detects when the device is not in use and automatically goes into sleep mode. When the coil is no longer in motion, the detector shuts off and goes into standby mode after 5 seconds of inactivity. A simple movement of the coil will automatically activate the detector and wake it from sleep mode. This unique feature provides energy savings and increases the rechargeable lithium battery’s autonomy of the detector.

Another benefit of the accelerometer is that it determines the user’s scanning speed and corrects the detector’s reactions to always provide the same sounds whether scanning slowly or quickly. A real advantage in the field!
