The Garrett Vortex metal detector is a range of detectors that come in 3 models: the VX5, VX7, and VX9. The Garrett Vortex is a versatile, easy-to-use, and evolutionary metal detector. Designed for beginners as well as more experienced users, the Garrett Vortex can be transformed through the installation of an update (for a fee) on the manufacturer’s Garrett website. The Garrett Vortex VX5 can be upgraded to a VX7 or VX9, enhancing the detector’s capabilities. With this feature, the Garrett Vortex adapts to its user’s experience to progress with them!

GARRETT VORTEX VX9: Multi-Dimensional Multi-Frequency (MD-MF) Technology for Simplicity and Versatility

With Garrett’s Multi-Dimensional Multi-Frequency (MD) technology, the Vortex benefits from the combined power of multiple detectors in one by sending multiple different frequencies simultaneously into the ground. This ensures that no terrain is out of reach and increases the detector’s versatility, allowing it to work on all types of ground. The Garrett Vortex VX9 offers simultaneous multi-frequency operation as well as a Multi Salt mode perfect for wet areas on beaches. The Garrett Vortex VX9 also allows switching from simultaneous multi-frequency mode to Single Frequency mode. This feature enables users to choose a frequency of 5kHz, 9kHz, 13kHz, 18kHz, or 25kHz for specific or targeted searches: from low frequency for power to high frequency for effective detection of small surface targets or targets in highly mineralized contexts, the Garrett Vortex VX9 offers an appropriate response in all conditions.

Thanks to the Multi-Dimensional technology, the Vortex VX9 provides target identification on 3 levels. This allows for a finer and simpler distinction between ferrous and non-ferrous targets.

The Garrett Vortex VX9 offers five preset search modes: All Metals, Discrimination, US Coins, Jewelry, and Custom mode.

The large backlit LCD screen of the Garrett Vortex provides good readability in all conditions. The simple interface allows for intuitive navigation through the menus and quick access to essential information (conductivity index, burial depth, battery level, etc.).

5-meter Waterproof Housing

The Garrett Vortex range is fully waterproof up to 5 meters, allowing this metal detector to be used in the rain and even for aquatic detection up to 5 meters deep, in areas previously reserved for specialized detectors.

Z-Lynk Transmitter – for connecting a wireless headset

The Vortex VX9 can be connected to the Garrett MS-3 wireless headset, providing unmatched detection comfort and optimal freedom of movement.

Straight telescopic and compact shaft

Weighing 1.4 kg, the Garrett Vortex is equipped with a straight telescopic shaft with a maximum length of 144 cm. When folded, it measures only 62 cm, making it easy to store in any carry case or backpack. Additionally, an ingenious system allows the search coil to rotate once the shaft is folded, making storage of the Vortex detector a breeze.

The adjustable handle and adjustable armrest provide a comfortable grip that adapts to all users’ sizes.

Lithium battery power and recharging via a USB-C charging port

The Garrett Vortex is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery that can be charged via a USB Type-C charging port on the back of the unit, offering approximately 15 hours of battery life.
